My Family

Foremost; I am a servant of God and through God's many blessings I am able to be a wife and mother to my beautiful family.

I met my husband the summer before Senior year. I had always wanted to be a young mother, but never imagined being married at the age of 18 and a mother at 20. But I believe if you are faithful to God in small things, He will be gracious and bless you in big ways.

A month before I met my husband I attended a youth conference in Steubenville, Ohio where I heard a speaker talk about pledging your purity to God. That day I took a small step towards a closer walk with my Father. I went to the bookstore and purchased a ring with a cross on it and placed it on my wedding ring finger, not to be removed until New Years Day 2007 when Brandon replaced it with a new promise ring (my ENGAGEMENT RING!!!)!

Seeing how God blessed me with my life partner only 1 month after I made that promise, my heart was committed to follow Jesus my entire life through. There are many days when I feel lost and far from worthy, but I always know Who walks beside me.

When Brandon and I were still dating, we talked about birth control and came to the conclusion that we would not try to tell God how many kids we think we should have and instead be fully open to God's plan for our lives. A wonderful mentor of mine said "If we tell God that we give Him our lives for His perfect plan, doesn't that also mean that us women would 'hand over' our womb to Christ too?" The Bible puts it this way in Psalm 127 "Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. .... Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;..."

Less than a month after our 1st Anniversary, we welcomed our first child, Josiah, to our life and exactly 22 months after that our beautiful daughter Leah was born! I feel so blessed to be a stay at home mother, but have a passion to do more than just mothering.

I love anything that uses my creative skills; from remodeling, painting, scrapbooking, gardening, and sewing. I find this blog as another outlet for my creativity and hope that I can use it to glorify the name of  God.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my life! Please feel free to leave comments on my posts, I love making new friends! May the peace of God be with you!
